Recommended Markets of Paris


Here are some markets that I've been to, or friends and family have
frequented and loved.  Markets are a great way to see how Parisians truly live
and a way to get wonderful produce and specialties for a decent price.

With over 70 markets spanning back to its Roman era, markets are absolutely
essential to Paris living.  Here are my top “marches” (by arrondisements, or
neighbourhoods...)

1er Arrondisement
Saint-Honoré Market
Place du Marché Saint Honoré
Wednesday, 3 pm to 8:30 pm, Saturday 7 am until 3PM
Metro : Pyramides

3e Arrondisement
Clothes Market
Carreau du Temple
- Rue Perrée
Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm
Sunday from 9am - 12pm
Metro : Temple or Arts et Metiers

4th Arrondisement
Speciality market : Flowers, birds, little animals – no dogs and cats.
Place Louis Lepine and quays around.
Metro : Cite
Flower market : Every day except Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Bird market : Only  Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

6e Arrondisement
St-Germain Covered market
4/8 rue Lobineau.
Tuesday to Saturday 8.30am-1 pm and 4 pm-7.30 pm.also,
Sunday 8:30am - 1pm
Metro : Mabillon

8e Arrondisement
Flower market and exceptional produce -delicacies
Madeleine.
Place de la Madeleine
Metro : Madeleine
Everyday except Sunday from 8am-7:30pm

12e Arrondisement
Rue Mouffetard – Oldest market in Paris
Cheeses other fine quality foods

Everyday from 8 am- 7:30pm except Monday
