Travel Abroad with Kids:

Books for Kids -
And a few for you!

Here are some recommended books for KIDDIES to read
either before leaving or to pack:

(Love bringing books - encourages reading, exploration, sense of history and just
keeps them busy and happy - especially all the sticker and coloring books!) Plus
the latter you can toss and pick up new "foreign" ones in your travelling country -
kiosks sell them and kids love them because they are so different than ours!

Books to keep Busy/Pack:

HELPFUL HINT - I look at printing off free coloring pages on various websites - especially for my
younger ones, who may spend 30 seconds per page! - just type in free coloring and a subject
on google and loads come up!

I also HIGHLY recommend www.enchantedlearning.com It's a great website designed for
preschool through I think at least elementary grades. I pay 20.00 for a year and get to print off
anything from geography (flags, etc) to original craft ideas to art coloring pages - you name it -
you can look at all the samples before deciding to become a member!

For the Adults -

I love all the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides - I'm very visual so these give me loads of
photos and good information at a glace (IE - market days, fees for entrances to
attractions, etc)
I also get used travel DVD's from Amazon or ebay. - Once I'm done I turn around and sell
them back.

I use Amazon.com just because it's cheaper than buying at a store and I really don't have a lot of
time to hang out in bookstores like I used to! Plus, when I do go, I end up spending more
because the kids are with me!
